Interpret Your Existing I Ching Cast
Already cast the coins or received a hexagram elsewhere? Enter that original cast and the question you asked. Get a free direction from our classical rules, then choose whether to explore a full interpretation.
We record moving lines, but they do not change the current directional judgment. This is our simplified Zeng Shan Bu Yi method, rather than individual line-text interpretation.Bring the cast you already have.
Record the base hexagram, including the moving lines you know. No new coin tosses.
Missing the moving-line record or the original question? Read hexagram references or start a new cast.
How to interpret your existing cast
- Enter six values, 6 / 7 / 8 / 9, from bottom to top. Or select the base hexagram and its moving positions.
- Check the six-line preview, then enter your original question and category. For relationships, select the partner direction.
- Clarify what you originally meant, confirm the saved question and cast, and read your free direction.
- Optionally unlock the full reading, answer a few questions about your situation, and see the classical basis and practical explanation.
What you need before starting
Bring the base hexagram, the original question, and a record of which lines moved—or an explicit record that none moved. We will not assume that unknown moving lines are stable.
If you do not know the original question or moving lines, browse our sourced hexagram meanings. For a new question, start a new cast.
The method and its limits
Programmed rules determine the direction. The optional full report shows the relevant Zeng Shan Bu Yi passage, its translation, and how the rule applies. AI helps clarify your question and connect the fixed reading to your situation; it does not choose the result.
Moving lines are recorded and displayed, but are not used in the current judgment. This tool does not provide changed-hexagram interpretation, date-based strength calculations, or individual line-text explanations from other websites. Read about changing lines and our classical method.
Free direction, optional full reading
Your directional result is free. For a supported clear result, the optional full reading uses the same pricing as a new cast: $2.99 standard, or $1.99 for an eligible first purchase. There is no subscription or account requirement.
If this simplified rule returns no clear direction, no stronger conclusion is claimed and no fee is due. See pricing and what is included. Your real-world decision stays yours.
